One of my great Star Trek-related pet peeves is the episodes - and there's a lot of 'em - where the characters prance around in period costumes for whatever flimsy reason the writing and production staff has cooked up. This time the crew are chasing malevolent aliens around in ninenteenth century San Francisco. Prominently featured, a Mark Twain impersonator so annoying that one would like to bludgeon him into oblivion with a stack of Huck Finn hardcovers.
